An environmental vision and commitment

As Dickson®’s fabrics use solution-dyed acrylic yarn, they omit a highly polluting stage in the weaving process. Our fabric treatment processes are optimized to avoid overloading products with chemicals. The stiffening product we use, for example, also guards against rot. Treatment processes are carried out in a closed circuit. We recover calories from water used in our treatments to heat incoming water. We do not release chemicals.
The environment is at the heart of the concerns of many companies. It's also became a major theme for Dickson and many actions have already been implemented at the plant.

Waste management
All waste from our head office and production site is fully sorted. Some 300 metric tons of waste are sorted each year for specific recycling.

An energy-efficient solution
The energy consumed by buildings today represents 44% of total energy consumption in Europe and generates 25% of CO2 emissions. Air-conditioning systems are becoming more and more energy-intensive. Cooling requires three times more energy than heating. Dickson® is focused on reducing this impact in an essentially passive way based on blocking infrared rays. We systematically include these issues in the development of sun protection products.

Water recycling
The solution-dyeing of our yarns guarantees colorfastness and saves water. It allows us to avoid the use of conventional dyes, which pollute and consume water. The small amount of water used in our manufacturing process is fully sanitised by the local wastewater treatment plant, close to our factory

Product life cycle management
The GreenOvation approach takes end-of-life into account for all products. Selvedge yarns are partly recycled to produce industrial filters, insulation products and outdoor rugs.
