Technical performances and great style: the perfect balance
The constant search for new materials and cutting-edge technical performance has earned a reliable reputation for Sunbrella® fabrics, of which the unique composition has proven decisive.
Sunbrella® fabrics are exclusively woven with Sunbrella® solution-dyed acrylic fibres. Developed by the R&D team at Dickson, this new generation acrylic fibre is solution-dyed, which means the colour pigments are incorporated as the fibres are being manufactured, not afterwards like most other yarns and fabrics. This is why the colours hold up over time and resist fading even after hours of exposure to the sun, moon and weather.
The CleanGard® treatment, made with fluoride nano molecules, enables these fabrics to withstand salt water, chlorine, and all kinds of inclement weather conditions. This powerful protection boosts the fabrics water resistance and gives the fabric incomparable stain resistance.
Certified Oeko-Tex, (environmentally-friendly label awarded by an Austrian research institute), Sunbrella® fabrics are manufactured without any hazardous substances and do not present any health, skin or environmental risks. Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, they ensure maximum UV protection (UPF 50+ = 100% UV rays blocked).
Dickson-constant, the pure excellence of french style up market fabrics
Dickson-Constant’s technical expertise is the fruit of the 1969 merger between Dickson, located in Dunkirk since 1836, and Constant set up in Lille since 1913.
In 1998, Dickson-Constant joined the American group, Glen Raven. The strategic alliance between these two outdoor technical textile leaders enabled the Sunbrella® brand to establish a name for itself both as the world’s #1 marine fabric and the global bench- mark in terms of quality indoor-outdoor fabric.
