Inspiration's type : Projects Published at: 2023-11-23

On the prestigious Bouygues Challenger campus, the technological showcase of the Bouygues Construction group, Dickson's woven vinyl flooring was chosen for the 140m² living space.

Carine Saint Jore, Bouygues' architect, and her team created an interior atmosphere that reflects the vibrancy and dynamism of the campus. The use of 4 colours from the Mirage range (Moon J557 - Persian Yellow J547 - Viper Blue J527 - Dusty Green J548) in Hexagone perfectly matches the materials and furniture in this space.

Let's talk to Carine Saint Jore, with whom we worked on this project, who has succeeded in creating a unique space that is both warm and practical.

Dickson: What prompted you to renovate the living spaces on your premises?

Carine Saint Jore: For the refurbishment project, the idea of creating a convivial space as the heart of the project came from the desire to encourage links between colleagues, which is increasingly difficult with the spread of teleworking. The warm, inviting space invites people to come in for a coffee break, or to work or meet informally.

DC: Why did you choose Dickson Woven Flooring?

Mme St Jore : The product is ideal for this space where you can eat and drink, it's easy to clean and its mottled weave leaves fewer marks between 2 cleanings. The texture is reminiscent of the weave of a sea rush, creating a natural, cosy atmosphere conducive to well-being.

DC : What role did the flooring play in the project?

Mme St Jore : The hexagon-shaped tiles fit in with the theme of the project, which is "The network"; a network of people, an international network... each element is connected to 6 others, also reminiscent of the honeycombs in beehives.

DC: Why did you choose several mix & match references and shapes?

Mme St Jore: In this theme, the choice to differentiate each element by its colours and variations in shades (depending on the direction of installation) contributes to the architectural intention. The centrepiece at the entrance to the space is an acoustic tree, which also symbolises the concept of the network through its ramifications; on the floor, the green and yellow tiles are reminiscent of leaves that have fallen to the ground.

DC : Once the DICKSON floor had been installed, what were your impressions?

Mme St Jore : I was very pleased with the result. The choice of floor covering is in symbiosis with the theme of the project, and its colours contribute to the decorative concept. Its texture makes the space less austere, even within a workplace, and the lounge areas fit in perfectly.

Dickson Woven Flooring was able to offer this company a unique vision for the design of this convivial space thanks to its collection of woven vinyl floors. When it comes to office environments, it's important to provide employees with a productive, calm and inspiring workspace. Changing working habits, with the increase in remote working and the need for collaborative spaces, need to be reflected in interior flooring.
