Life Cycle Assessment
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) evaluates the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle: raw material extraction and production, manufacturing, transportation, use, and end-of-life.
After identifying all the stages and inputs, we apply emission factors to calculate the carbon footprint (CO₂e), a key indicator of climate change.
This approach primarily guides us in the eco-design and continuous improvement of our products.
Our main objectives are:
- reducing the impact of raw materials;
- reducing waste;
- improving energy efficiency; and
- increasing the recyclability of materials.
Our LCAs are conducted using the Greenly platform and validated by an environmental expert.
Scope of our Analysis
Our analysis covers the entire product lifecycle.
- Functional unit: 1 m²
- Lifespan considered: 10, 15, or 25 years depending on the product studied
- Methodology: IPCC 2013 GWP 100a
Interpretation and communication of results
The results are classified, analyzed, and used to continuously improve our product design.
We present them clearly and transparently in our LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) sheets, so you can understand the carbon impact and contribute, in turn, to a more sustainable production method.
Each product manufactured at our Wasquehal and Hordain sites (Northern France) has its own LCA sheet, including:
- the results and parameters of the study
- everyday equivalents and comparisons with other textile materials, based on publicly available data from ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition).
