CUSTOMER STORY: YACHT UPHOLSTERY UPGRADE WITH SUNBRELLA FABRICS

Sunbrella : How did you get into sailing?

Uwe Langer : Yachting's in my blood. I was seven when I first set foot on a boat and it was the first one my father ever bought! Both of us loved sailing, and it's something that's never left me. We've always had one. I'm seventy now and I still get so much out of it.

Sunbrella : What boat do you have now?

UL : I've had 15 boats and right now I have an Elegance 54 built in 2006. I bought it pre-owned in 2007 - it was almost like new.

Sunbrella : How often do you use your boat?

UL : I have three children and six grandchildren, and they all have sea legs. The whole family uses the boat a lot from April to September along the Croatian coast. I doubt any boat in the harbour gets used as much as ours.

Sunbrella : Had you heard of the Sunbrella brand before?

UL : Of course! All the seats on the boat before the upgrade were in Sunbrella fabric, which to me is a guarantee of quality. After 17 years of use, exposure to strong sunlight, salt water, and sailing with the family, the colour of our Sunbrella upholstery remained even and hadn't faded, with very few visible signs of wear. So it was time to reupholster it and to change the seat fabrics.

Sunbrella : So, you wanted to reupholster your boat with Sunbrella marine fabrics?
 
UL : I knew I wanted Sunbrella again: you can trust it on quality, it's long-lasting, and from experience, these fabrics are highly resistant to stains and the upkeep is really easy. There's a complete range for seats and cushions, and boat protection, so I had all the fabrics redone, including my bimini, in Sunbrella. It will be years before I have to think about them again.
