Voltaire high school needed to redesign its various spaces in order to increase its capacity by 200 additional students. This important project required the use of EA+LLA, the architectural firm that carried out a partial refurbishment of the gymnasium, restructuring of the teaching and examination area and renovation of several classrooms.
As part of restructuring the staff room, EA+LLA used our flooring configurator, the Dickson Flooring Project, to create a mix & match of ALLURE and ELEGANCE products in grey and blue shades, echoing those on the walls. Our woven vinyl flooring therefore helps create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation, concentration and calming for teachers.
EA+LLA has chosen the products ALLURE Snow Shadow J517 & Iridium Silver J514 and ELEGANCE Islay Blue J533, Pacifica Blue J552 & Almond Green J551, all with the hexagon shape. By playing with the warp and weft patterns, certain colours reveal an abundance of reflections, providing a moving and playful aspect to this space. The play on colours, installation directions and shapes subtly mark out this open space into different zones, intended for moving traffic or inviting its users to chat and rest.
Designed to be used by teachers during their coffee breaks, the staff room is a sociable space where the floor is subjected to numerous stresses every day: coffee stains, cake crumbs, more or less intensive traffic etc. Choosing a durable and easy-to-maintain material was required. Thanks to its CleanGard technology, the protective varnish directly integrated into our product, Dickson woven vinyl flooring is perfectly suited to this type of environment, to which it adds a beautiful and clear designer touch.
