The different applications for our Sunbrella® Marine fabrics
UV protection strip
Designed to prevent UV rays from damaging the Genoa when anchoring, it is recommended to place a UV strip around the edges of the Genoa. Once rolled up, the sail is completely protected from sun damage.
Furling fabric is specially designed for this application: it doesn't alter the sail's performance. Lightweight, flexible and resistant, it is particularly recommended for boats smaller than 40'
Sunbrella® also offers an adhesive and repositionable version thanks to a new generation of glue, which makes installation and replacement easier, without damaging the sail.
We recommend uncoated Sunbrella for UV protection of Genoas on boats larger than 40'.
Bimini top
When used at anchoring or when sailing slowly the bimini top provides optimum protection from the sun and adds a significant degree of comfort to the sailing experience. The bimini top can be folded and easily removed for storage in the cabin.
Recommended fabrics: We recommend uncoated Sunbrella, but also Sunbrella Plus, Sunbrella Seamark and for fixed bimini tops only Sunworker. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
Dodger
Suitable for all types of boats, it is designed to protect the crew from wind and spray when anchored and sailing. At port, the dodger is ideal for providing comfort and privacy on board the boat.
Recommended fabrics: We recommend uncoated Sunbrella, Sunbrella Plus & Sunbrella Seamark can also be used. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
External windshield cover
Adjusted to the shape of the boat, it protects the windows from damage, shuts the cockpit during the winter and prevents external condensation during thermal shocks.
Recommended fabrics: Uncoated Sunbrella is recommended. Sunbrella Plus, Sunworker and Sur Last can also be used. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
Seat cover
Protects the driver and co-driver seats to ensure that the upholstery is in perfect condition after the winter
Recommended fabrics: Lightweight and unobtrusive Sur Last.
Winter cover
Ideal for protecting your boat in all weather. Whether it's UV rays, rain and its risk of mould, dust that gets into the smallest nooks and crannies or bird attacks, a winter cover will prevent your boat from being damaged during periods of inactivity and therefore preserve its condition.
Recommended fabrics: Sunbrella Plus, Sunbrella Seamark, and Sur Last. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
Spray hood
A spray hood is usually found on recreational boats. It is unfolded when sailing to protect the crew from weather conditions such as sun, rain and wind. Essential for the crew's comfort when sailing, the spray hood is made to measure in thick and waterproof fabric with transparent vinyl parts to allow visibility.
Recommended fabrics: Sunbrella Plus, Sunbrella Seamark, it is also possible to use uncoated Sunbrella. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics).
Camper enclosure
The camper enclosure covers the entire cockpit. It provides an additional living area on board. In cold and wet weather it provides extra comfort. In the summer it can be used as a sun awning to protect the crew from UV rays
Recommended fabrics: We recommend that you choose Sunbrella Plus which combines waterproofness and breathability.
Sunbrella Seamark is also possible, provided that a side ventilation grate is used as it is 100% waterproof, and it is necessary to provide ventilation to avoid encouraging mould development.
Wheel cover
The wheel cover helps protect your wheel from UV rays, harmful moonlight and climate variations.
Recommended fabrics: Uncoated Sunbrella and also Sur Last. Sunbrella Plus and Sunbrella Seamark can also be used. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
Console cover and winch cover
They protect against humidity, salt and sunlight and therefore they delay wear and tear of sensitive parts.
Recommended fabrics: Uncoated Sunbrella and also Sur Last. Sunbrella Plus and Sunbrella Seamark can also be used. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
Lazy bag and mainsail cover
Helps to effectively protect the mainsail during periods of inactivity.
Recommended fabrics: Uncoated Sunbrella. Sunbrella Plus and Sunbrella Seamark can also be used. (See detailed data sheets for specific waterproofing and breathability technical characteristics)
